DESCRIPTION
The patterned map placed on the granite pedestal depicts the most characteristic and important buildings of Kisvárda in bronze. The city center is given a more prominent role, with a more detailed representation of the City Hall, the Synagogue, the Saint Ladislaus statue, the Library, the House of Arts, the Roman Catholic and the Reformed churches, as well as the Saint Ladislaus Catholic High School and the Várday Kata Reformed School.
Further away, the buildings and structures that form part of the historical section of the city, such as the Castle, the Greek Catholic Church, and the Bessenyei György Gymnasium, are also represented, albeit proportionally scaled using artistic techniques. The Várkerti Stadium is also a notable feature.
The bas-relief was unveiled on October 9, 2020, on the occasion of the International White Cane Day, in front of the City Hall at 7-11 Szent László (Walking) Street.
