Touchable -Invisible relief, City Győr Down town.
Objective with this project of the Rotary Clubs – RC Győr and RC Böblingen Schönbuch – was, to make this beautiful baroque square "see" by touching to blind and partially sighted.
The square bears the name of Earl István Széchenyi. It regards to be one of the most beautiful baroque squares in Central Europe. The square is surrounded by buildings like the Abbot House which serves now as the county museum, the house with the iron champ , the former Town Hall in which is now the city archives is located , the Jesuits (St. Ignatius) church , high school and monastery building complex including a museum pharmacy , which are in the property of the Benedictines.
On the east side of the square is located the Lloyd’s building. In the center of the square is the Marian column situated , which was erected as memory of the recapture of the town from the Turks .
The ribbon cut ceremony took place on May 25th 2012.
